Human Ecology is an innovator in human development processes. The company was established in 2001 by Simon and Jo Walker

Human Ecology, based in Oxford, was founded in 2001 by the Revd. Simon and Jo Walker.

The company has developed a number of proprietary models, including Personal Ecology. These are now beginning to be used across a wide range of sectors and disciplines; leadership formation, education, coach training and supervision and brand creation.

Human Ecology has a close relationship with Oxford University. It also works closely with the Church of England, through a programme of leadership formation courses run at Wycliffe Hall in Oxford.

Human Ecology has membership of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) and the Association of Business Psychologists (ABP). Human Ecology is a limited company registered in England and Wales.

Many people ask in what way the models, tools and processes of Human Ecology are distinctive. Underpinning them are some fundamental convictions about what it means to be a person.

1. A person is a unique, created individual

So our models are built around the individuality of the mental landscapes people create- no two are ever the same- no Personal Ecology Profile is ever the same.

2. A person is created to be relational

So our models look not only at the person inside, but at their relationships, their social and cultural context.

3. A person's future is always open

So our processes help people understand their past, become aware of their present and become open to a bigger future- even an eternity.

4. A person's deep needs are for acceptance and love

So our processes help people find deeper ways to receive love and find acceptance.

5. A person is fully responsible for their life

So our processes take an honest, and at times, hard look at our behaviour- the consequences it may have for others, the world and society; and the choices we have for change in our lives.
